Biography
Melanie Jordan is an associate specializing in family law,
bringing with her both a strong writing background and professional experience
in crisis counseling and child advocacy. Prior to and during law school, Melanie
worked as an advocate for victims of domestic violence and as a Case Manager for
foster children, frequently testifying in court in dependency and neglect
proceedings. Despite this, she managed to fall in the top 5% of her class,
graduating with the high honor of membership in the Order of the
Coif.
While in law school, Melanie also served for two years on the
University of Colorado Law Review, where she further honed her
understanding of the law and her drafting skills. As a student, Melanie focused
on family law, completing an additional semester of coursework in juvenile and
family law with honors. She also represented children as a Guardian ad Litem in
the Juvenile Law Clinic, where she received a Clinical Education Award. Melanie
was a member of the Rothgerber Moot Court Team.
Since joining our firm,
Melanie has worked on cases that range from dissolution of marriage to post
decree matters involving complex financial issues and contentious parenting time
disputes. Melanie also contributes to the community by volunteering with
Project Safeguard, where she helps victims of domestic violence understand the
legal process involved in divorce and child custody cases.
